I am mine

" Everything that lives,
lives not alone,
lives not for itself."
-William Blake

In this dog-eat-dog world, that's what people fail to understand. Or rather fail to accept and tend to ignore.
Gratitude and indebtedness are as short-lived as a bar of chocolate in a diabetic's refridgerator.

I never truly understood this aspect of the human memory. When in need, help is craved and sought out.
Help recieved, formalities bartered and things go back to normal. But when the time comes to return that
favour once released upon you, the person tends to forget, and forget he does. It never seems important enough to retain in the precious pockets of our memory. Why waste invaluable space on these things when there are more important things like..um..oh let's see...the cost of this cosmetic, the timings of a particular movie, when this girl went out with that guy's friend's ex-girlfriend's ex-boyfriend. Frivality seems to prevail today.

It's like what my dad says-- humans are probably the most ungrateful, undeserving species that could ever be created.
Animals don't ever hold grudges against you if you do something to them. They are loyal and true to themselves. And what makes us "superior" to the other animals..just the fact that we have an auditory advantage over them. We are as brutal, probably more, more savage, and could never match the faithfulness and love that animals show you even if we tried.

What's keeping us from realising that there's a lot more to life than just monetary value? We got lost somewhere along the path..
it's about time we made our way back.

Human Beings..aye they can be a complex lot..

I guess the less we live with our primal instincts of survival first, care for others later, the better off we'd be.

"Imagine no possesions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
"
- John Lennon

'Cause I want to live like animals
Careless and free like animals
I want to live I want to run through the jungle
With wind in my hair and the sand at my feet

I don't think we'll ever find the way back. Some things are lost forever... dramatic and defeatist as that sounds!

*mustang- nope..lol.

*aytida- hey yeah. never thought of that.

*jan- true true. but there has to be some way.

dont want to end up sounding like a cold son of a bitch...but altruism only exists in any species due to trusting attributes of reciprocal altruism and instinctive qualities of kin selection..and with no disrespect to your father i would also like to point out the fact that humans are the most altruistic, because of our increased memory and ability to distinguish between reciprocators and non-reciprocators of altruistic behavour..

sharanya said...

lol..u use altruistic one more time!

thank you. try me best

hmm we all jus try to. May be that's what keeps us going. Everything created is only second best to what is yet to come, in an artist perspective :)

Not many souls are this modest kindered soul..

p.s: time for a new post, reader's request :)

hmm......guess u were in a angry mood r victimised by the careless motive of people ........... these things happen in this world ... maybe the probability is less .....n as u said "We are as brutal, probably more, more savage, and could never match the faithfulness and love that animals show you even if we tried" then y cant the other xtreme of ur view
be happenin to someone else ...........n most importantly in this situation" A PERSON WHO REALISES THE VALUE OF THE TIMELY FAVOUR R HELP DONE TO HIM N CARES TO WORK IN THE SAME PACE WEN HE WAS IN SEARCH OF HELP, TO RETURN THE MONEY OR SUMTHIN ELSE ........IS WAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HIM N ALL THOSE BETRAYERS .".............
